Sonoma County’s favorite local supermarket  is about to release  its second volume of compilation music. Tom Scott,  General Manager at Oliver’s Market came up with the idea when he was in one of their markets. Oliver’s specializes in Sonoma County products which inspired the  thought, “If we can do  local products, why not local music?” Inspired, he recruited Blair Hardman, owner of Zone Recording Studio in Sonoma County, and Frank Hayhurst, local community music advocate, to compile Real Music Volume II . The Press Democrat wrote a story this new album which showcases a diverse array of original local talent.

Hardman has digitally mastered every song on the CD, many of which are recorded in home or local studios. He also commands notoriety as the voice on the broadcasting system.

The eclectic CD set includes  salsa, mariachi, jazz, blues and country. It sells for $10  in all of the Oliver’s markets while all profits are donated to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. The CDs are also available on iTunes, and at The Last Record Store in Santa Rosa.

A Real Music Volume II  release party will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Sebastopol Community Center. The event will feature bands from Real Music Volume I and II. The event cost is $10 and a can of food for the food bank.
